Operational since 2010, IIT Madras Research Park (IITMRP) became India’s first university-based research park. Proximate to the IIT Madras campus, IITMRP has evolved to become the region’s, if not the country’s, hub for industry-academia collaboration. Despite the leagues transcending on its campus, IITMRP’s website remained an archive of the past.
Beyond listing out rental infrastructure and achievements in innovation, its website was plagued by content that was disorganized and, therefore, didn’t serve its intended audience.
The revamp of IITMRP’s website began with an audit of its diverse stakeholders - from companies seeking to rent infrastructure for R&D to those seeking incubatees to startups seeking incubation support. What were their aspirations? How could their journey be optimised further?
As a hotbed for innovation, IITMRP’s website also needed to mirror this thought-leadership through its design and journey mapping.
On reviewing the current website from the lens of its stakeholders, One MG concluded that its website architecture was in dire need of an overhaul. Recognizing that the association to IIT was crucial even to the stakeholders, we positioned the potential collaboration among industry and academia at the heart of IITMRP’s renewed messaging.
Each stakeholder’s journey was planned to resonate with not just their needs but also the advantages they would avail by associating with the IIT Madras’s resource pool. Optimised for reader-friendliness, the renovated website was SEO-integrated and made mobile-friendly.Thus, strengthening its position as a thought leader and as an ecosystem that stirs, supports and promotes innovation.
